Chicken was on sale this week at Superstore so we picked one up. With my novice experience in butchery I decided to carve it up and make some Jamaican Jerk Chicken this evening. So I gathered all my ingredients and started up the oven, found a great rice recipe and turned on the burner.

About 5 minutes later while measuring the perfect water to rice ratio, a noise as loud as a gunshot blasted through the house and I felt something hit me in the upper back. I was shocked and my heart jumped, I was so confused as to what just happened.

I turned on the wrong burner, the one that had my Pyrex glass baking pan on it. It blew up and sprayed the entire kitchen and living room with tiny pieces of glass, I just found some in my hair.

Todays lesson : do not place a Pyrex glass baking pan on a hot burner, it explodes violently and can cause heart attack!

I turned off the oven, put the chicken in the fridge and poured a big glass of wine, I am now terrified of the stove.

My Jamaican Curry dinner bombed hardcore,  the chicken was cooked well however I  guess I didn’t follow the recipe close enough because we both agreed it tasted like soap . So even though there are poor children starving in Africa, we were forced to toss it.

So not only did I almost die from exploding glass, my rice and chicken sucked… I am going to make some sandwiches now.
